Administration Team
As soon as you walk through the door at St John’s Primary School in Mitcham, you are welcomed by the smiles and enthusiasm of our Administration Team, Verona Gridley (Principal), Monica O’Shannassy (Deputy Principal) and Jenny MacLeod (Receptionist/Administration Star).
Together we ensure that you experience a sense of belonging within our community and our dedication to providing an outstanding quality education for your child.
Prep Team
Shannon joined St John’s in 2019. She has worked in 1/2 and is now working in Prep. Shannon is our Learning and Teaching leader and is passionate about creating rich and thought provoking learning experiences both in and outside the classroom.
Naomi worked in 1/2 for two years and is in her fourth year of teaching Prep at St John’s. She is passionate about Literacy and loves working with students and teachers as part of her role as Writing Coach.
Connie has been working at St John’s for 12 years. She is passionate about helping students at our school and loves getting to work with and know the families and students. Connie loves what she does and finds it very rewarding to see students achieve milestones and success in their learning.
1/2 Team
Carmel has rejoined the staff of St John’s Primary School after a number of years teaching in Heidelberg West. Currently teaching Year 1/2 , she is particularly interested in supporting students in their early years of school. She is also really happy to be part of the Marathon Club once again and teach PE to the juniors each week.
Emma has been teaching at St John’s for the past six years. She began as a graduate in 2015 and taught 3/4 for three years before coming to 1/2. Emma is incredibly passionate about Wellbeing and has been the school’s Student Wellbeing Leader since 2018.
3/4 Team
Kellie has been working at St John’s for 10 years. Over the years she has worked in all levels and in various roles. She loves working with students throughout the whole school as part of her role as Numeracy Coach. Kellie is passionate about improving student growth and helping young children feel confident and engaged when learning mathematics.
Tom has been working at St John’s for the past 4 years, this is his first year in 3/4 after previously being in 5/6. Tom is our e-Learning leader and loves being able to engage students creativity and curiosity through the use of new technology.
Cheryl joined St John’s in 2019 as an LSO, Learning Support Officer after working at a number of other schools in our area. She has loved getting to know the community here at St John’s and working with students of all ages.
5/6 Team
Kristina has been teaching at St John’s since 2018. Since joining our school she has been working in the 5/6 area. She is passionate about music and the arts and loves helping students reach their full potential. Since joining our school, Kristina has been overwhelmed by the support and unbelievable community feel St John’s has. She loves how everyone is friendly and looks out for each other.
Andy joined St. John’s in 2019. He is working as a classroom teacher in the 5/6 area, as well as teaching PE to all senior students. He is passionate about forming positive relationships with everyone in the school community and helping each student achieve their goals. Andy loves working at St. John’s and is always amazed by how supportive the school community is.
Marisa teaches in 5/6 KR with Kristina. She loves getting to work with the students in Digital Technologies and explore new devices. Marisa is passionate about sport and feels lucky to work at St John’s because it is such an inclusive school.
Melinda works in the 5/6 learning area. Melinda is passionate about supporting students in their journey to become the best they can be. She strongly believes that all students can learn and loves when a student realises they have achieved a goal they've been working on.
