Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which our school is built, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation and we pay our respects to elders past and present.
St John’s is committed to acknowledging, building and sustaining respect and understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Our vision is for a school that values and celebrates diversity and where all students have respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, culture and values.

St John's Fire Carriers
Over the past few years we have proudly supported FIRE Carrier Program.
FIRE Carriers are Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education. Each year we celebrate a Commissioning Service to welcome and commission our new FIRE Carrier Students and Staff.
As part of the program we unveiled of our collaborative artwork titled: One Fire – With Faith and Love.
The FIRE Carriers are supported by Sherry Balcombe from Aboriginal Catholic Ministry,
incorporating indigenous culture, traditions and understanding thoughout every aspect
of the school and curriculum.
Our community is the ‘Living Flame’ that will ignite the fire of the new dreaming of
justice, love, compassion and hope for the world today.
