STEM
STEM is a curriculum based on four specific subjects — Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is an integrated approach to teaching and learning. STEM combines the learning of these curriculum areas into a cohesive learning program based on real-world problem solving and applications.
At St John's Primary School our students participate in a dedicated STEM lesson every week.
It combines many skills, including:
- Designing
- Coding
- Constructing
- Problem solving
- Critical thinking
- Investigating
- Creating
STEM at St John's covers a wide range of disciplines and skills, which are increasingly in demand in our rapidly changing world.
STEM skills and knowledge are vital for all stages of student learning, future jobs and in their everyday lives.
