Puppet Incursion
On Friday, 3 May, the Year 3/4 students participated in a Puppet Workshop run by Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle as part of their learning in Performing Arts. Students were shown puppets from around the world and practised skills used by famous puppeteers. They had the opportunity to use amazing hand puppets and worked in groups to create shows, which they performed in front of each other. Students were engaged and amazed, some asking if this was really a job, and how could they do it!
It was a wonderful way to conclude our unit on Puppeteering and the students showcased their ability to change their voices and use movement to really bring their puppets to life.
Responsible Pet Ownership
On Monday 13 May, our students in Prep to Year 2 were involved in a Responsible Pet Ownership Incursion.
The Responsible Pet Ownership program educates children on:
- living safely with dogs
- responsible pet ownership.
Their pet educators and their dogs visit schools in Victoria each year to promote the vital safety messages through animated presentations, song and role play.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about being safe around pets and all the responsibilities that come with owning a pet.
The students had a wonderful time and loved petting the educators dog.
