STEM Learning - Term 4

This term in STEM our students have been investigating Chemical Science. The junior school looked at substances that mix well together and substances that don’t mix well together. Using different experiments they explored how water, detergent and oil combine with each other.

The middle school explored how heating and cooling different substances changes their states and shapes. They used chocolate, water and margarine at different temperatures to help them create a storyboard of their observations.

The senior school learnt about how to classify different states of matter by looking at their observable properties and understanding their atomic structures. They also explored the different processes that will make substances change their state of matter, like sublimation and deposition.
