MCG Excursion
Students in 1/2 have been learning about iconic places around Australia. This has linked in with our inquiry learning on geography, but also with writing, reading and even graphing in maths. We are so fortunate to have one of the most iconic places in the world right here in our city, so on the 10th June we went on an excursion to the MCG. We walked 5 minutes to the station and travelled into the city by train. Students toured the MCG in two small groups, led by experienced MCC members, and learnt about the rich history of the ground. It was fascinating to learn what happens behind the scenes of a place we see so much on TV. The 1/2s also explored the Australian Sports Museum and got to test their skills in the Game On Arena with a personalised wristband that recorded their scores. It was an absolutely wonderful day for students, parents and teachers, filled with lots of new learning and enthusiasm.
