New in Grade 5/6
Going to the Theatre
Grade 5 and 6 students recently enjoyed a wonderful day at the theatre, attending the major school productions of Emmaus Catholic College and Aquinas Catholic College. It was a fantastic experience, with both shows leaving a lasting impression!
Grade 5 students were treated to Emmaus College’s performance of Cinderella at The Round in Nunawading, while Grade 6 travelled to the Aquinas campus in Ringwood to see The Wedding Singer. Both productions were absolutely outstanding, with the student performers showcasing talent, confidence, and the polish of seasoned professionals.
A huge thank you to both Emmaus and Aquinas for inviting us to be part of these incredible events—we loved every moment!
Debating Workshops
Our Grade 5/6 students are currently taking part in a series of engaging debating and public speaking workshops, delivered by Debating Victoria. With two of the five sessions completed, students are already gaining confidence and valuable skills in clear communication, persuasive writing, and critical thinking.
So far, they’ve learned how to structure a debate, craft a convincing speech, and effectively rebut opposing arguments. The workshops are not only building their public speaking abilities but also encouraging teamwork and respectful discussion.
Students are enjoying the challenge and look forward to putting their new skills into practice as the program continues over the coming weeks.
STEMania!
This week, our Grade 3–6 students enjoyed an exciting STEM incursion presented by Perform Education. The interactive performance, titled STEMania!, took students on a high-energy journey through the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Through engaging games, fun quizzes, and lively acted-out scenarios, the performers demonstrated how STEM is used in our everyday lives—from common inventions to complex career paths. Students discovered how each element of STEM connects to real-world problem solving and innovation.
It was a fun and educational afternoon, leaving students inspired and eager to explore more about STEM and the opportunities it offers.
