School and Facilities
The learning environments are engaging and flexible to enable learning and teaching to be designed to meet the needs of all students.
Our secure, shaded outside spaces include an Adventure Playground, large grassed area, basketball, tennis and netball courts and a 'passive play' area where children can play quieter games and enjoy sharing a large chess set, large Connect Four game and over-sized building blocks.
Learning and Teaching
At St John's we provide a high quality contemporary learning environment in which all students are challenged and supported to experience ongoing success and which leads to higher levels of student engagement and improved student outcomes.
Curriculum
At St John’s we place a high priority on ensuring the curriculum is locally relevant and accessible to all students, using the foundation of students’ existing knowledge, interests and varying backgrounds.
A high priority at St John’s is our curriculum planning. This supports the progressive development of students’ deep understandings of concepts, principles and big ideas within learning areas, as well as to the ongoing development of cross-curricular skills and attributes, including teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, and the evaluation of information and evidence.
STEM is a curriculum based on four specific subjects — Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is an integrated approach to teaching and learning. STEM combines the learning of these curriculum areas into a cohesive learning program based on real-world problem solving and applications.
At St John's we partner with all in the community to deepen our understanding of our faith, its rituals, traditions and scripture in order to live out the faith in both word and action.
