Highlights Term 1
St Patricks Day Mass
Our school community recently marked a significant milestone as we celebrated the conclusion of Catholic Education Week. On Friday, 20th March, ten of our Year 6 students travelled to St Patricks Cathedral in Melbourne to represent us at the annual Mass of St Patrick for Schools. This years theme, "Christ beside me: Walking in the footsteps of St Patrick", held a special resonance as we honoured the patron saint of our Archdiocese. Our students joined hundreds of peers from across Victoria, ranging from Prep to Year 12, for a day filled with spirit and connection. Beyond the beautiful Mass, our students enjoyed The Concert in the Park, and Young Speakers Colloquium. It was an inspiring day of fellowship, and we are incredibly proud of how our Year 6 leaders represented our school values. Their participation was a testament to the vibrant spirit of Catholic education in our community.
Flower and Garden Show
Our Year 5 students, along with our Art and Environment leaders, recently enjoyed an inspiring day of outdoor learning at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. The excursion focused on the importance of our green spaces, offering students a hands-on look at sustainability through activities like constructing compostable plant pots from recycled newspaper and assembling herb-filled planters with the team from Bunnings. Beyond the garden beds, the group explored the vital connection between nature and wellbeing at the Beyond Blue mental health space, practiced mindfulness by creating stone patterns, and learned important lessons about water conservation. A highlight for everyone was visiting our very own scarecrow entry, 'Beautiful Beatrice,' and officially casting our votes for her to win Best Scarecrow in Show. Although the train trip home saw some very tired faces, the day was a fantastic success that left our students with a wealth of new skills and a deeper appreciation for the environment.
Twilight Sports 2026
After a brief delay due to the weather earlier this month, our Twilight Sports event finally took place on Monday, 23rd March, and it was well worth the wait! It was a fantastic evening filled with energy and school spirit as students enjoyed a variety of events expertly organized by Mr V. We owe a huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers for ensuring the program ran smoothly, and to everyone who helped provide a delicious sausage sizzle dinner. Competition was high throughout the night, but a special congratulations goes to the Blue team —well done to Dillon House for taking out the overall win!
