Colours of Australia
We recently hosted our annual St John’s Mitcham Art Show, a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible creativity and talent our students have nurtured throughout the year.
This year’s theme, Colours of Australia, saw students spend the past few terms exploring the work of iconic Australian artists and creating their own inspired masterpieces. The vibrant display went beyond classroom achievements, featuring artistic contributions from our teaching staff, creative pieces crafted by students at home, and heartwarming student portraits of their teachers.
Highlights of the event included:
-
The Great Barrier Reef Glow Room: An immersive, glowing experience that brought the vibrant colors of Australia's ocean life to light.
-
Student-Led Workshops: Hands-on creative sessions run by students for their peers, inspiring even more artwork throughout the day.
-
Student Talent Show: A lively showcase highlighting our community's diverse performing talents.
-
Community Raffle: Generous donations from our broader community made for an exciting raffle filled with amazing themed prizes.
A huge congratulations and deep thanks to our extraordinary art teacher, Beth Neason. Her vision, leadership, and boundless inspiration made this event truly memorable for our entire school community. Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and supported our young artists!
